I purchased 100 pounds of Coarse grain Dead Sea Salt from Midwest Sea Salt Company as part of their Black Friday, 2018 sale.
When the product was delivered and we began working with it (adding scent), we noticed a large amount of fine powder mixed in with the Dead Sea Salt. I began sifting to separate the Dead Sea salt from the powder. When I finished sifting I had approx. 33% fine powder and 66% Dead Sea salt. (16 pounds of Dead Sea Salt and 5.5 pounds of powder)
I immediately contacted the company about this. I emailed back and forth with Warren and provided the pictures that he requested. He couldn't (or wouldn't) tell me why there was fine grain powder mixed in with coarse grain dead sea salt at such a high ratio. He told me that an exchange would not be possible since I was going to get the very same thing anyway.
This tells me that Midwest Sea Salt is using the fine grain salt as a filler in the coarse grain sea salt, and trying to pass it off to unsuspecting consumers. This is very bad business, in my opinion. I would strongly recommend people to shop elsewhere for legitimate, authentic Dead Sea salt. This company has proven themselves to be dishonest and untrustworthy. If you check their facebook page, you will see that they have opted to not allow anyone to leave a review, now I understand why.
